On Friday 19 November 2021, Prof. Ioannis Androulakis participated as a speaker in the first event organized by the Athens Law Students’ Society at the premises of the Law School of the University of Athens (Oikonomides Hall). The topic of the event was the implications of the #MeToo Movement to the Greek criminal law and among the participants was the Olympic Gold Medalist Ms. Sofia Bekatorou, whose complaint triggered the aforementioned Movement in Greece, and criminal defence attorney Mr. Konstantinos Kakavoulis. The event culminated in a very interesting discussion with members of the public, on issues such as the adequacy of current criminal statutes, the risks related to the protection of the presumption of innocence, and whether there is a need for legislative reform.
Την Παρασκευή 19 Νοεμβρίου 2021, ο Καθηγητής Ιωάννης Ανδρουλάκης συμμετείχε ως ομιλητής στην πρώτη εκδήλωση που διοργάνωσε ο Σύλλογος Φοιτητών Νομικής Αθηνών στις εγκαταστάσεις της Νομικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών (Αίθουσα Οικονομίδη). Το θέμα της εκδήλωσης ήταν οι επιπτώσεις του κινήματος #MeToo στο ελληνικό ποινικό δίκαιο και μεταξύ των συμμετεχόντων ήταν η Χρυσή Ολυμπιονίκης κα Σοφία Μπεκατώρου, η καταγγελία της οποίας πυροδότησε το προαναφερθέν Κίνημα στην Ελλάδα, και ο δικηγόρος ποινικής υπεράσπισης κ. Κωνσταντίνος Κακαβούλης. Η εκδήλωση κορυφώθηκε με μια πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα συζήτηση με το κοινό, σχετικά με θέματα όπως η επάρκεια των ισχυόντων ποινικών νομοθεσιών, οι κίνδυνοι που σχετίζονται με την προστασία του τεκμηρίου αθωότητας και η ανάγκη νομοθετικής μεταρρύθμισης.
