On Saturday 18 June 2022, the Amalias Bar and Medical Associations held a joint scientific event on the highly contested issue of “Euthanasia today from a legal, medical and religious perspective”. The event was coordinated by well-known journalist Andreas Papadopoulos, and featured speeches by Pathology Professors Konstantinos Chrysanthopoulos and Maria Tsironi, the reverent Filaretos Spanopoulos, as well as Professor Ioannis Androulakis who spoke on the criminal law aspects of euthanasia. The speeches were followed by a lively discussion with the public, including doctors, lawyers and members of the clergy.
