On 19-20 September 2023 Professor I. Androulakis participated in the second FATF-INTERPOL Roundtable Engagement “FIRE II” in Lyon, France, as the two institutional world leaders in tackling financial crime – INTERPOL and the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) – came together to discuss ways to improve international asset recovery. A significant number of experts from both organizations outlined thematic and emerging threats and risks of financial crime, showcased cooperation mechanisms and operational successes and, and discussed ways and methods to effectively identify, track, seize and manage criminal assets.
