The Conference of the Parties to the Warsaw Convention holds 13th Plenary Meeting – Prof. Androulakis reelected as President

Androulakis & Associates Law FirmThe Conference of the Parties (COP) to the Convention on Laundering, Search, Seizure and Confiscation of the Proceeds from Crime and on the Financing of Terrorism held its 13th Plenary Meeting on 17-18 November 2021.

The COP adopted the Thematic Monitoring Report on application of Article 10 of the Convention CETS 198 on corporate criminal liability; amendments to the 2018-2021 thematic monitoring reports for Lithuania and UK; and the follow-up report on Articles 11 and 25 for the Russian Federation.

The Plenary heard presentations and exchanged views with representatives of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Secretariat, the Council of Europe Counterterrorism Committee (CDCT) and the Committee of Experts on the Operation of European Conventions on Co-operation in Criminal Matters (PC-OC).

The Plenary agreed on the subject of the next Thematic Monitoring Review – namely Article 6 of the Convention (Management of Frozen and Seized Property).

The Plenary re-elected Dr Ioannis Androulakis (Greece) as the President of the COP, and elected Ms Oxana Gisca (Moldova) as Vice-President; Mr Azer Abbasov (Azerbaijan), Mr Aram Kirakossian (Armenia), Ms Claudia Elion (The Netherlands) were elected as Bureau members.
